Planning tutoring in Thailand
For international school or English-medium study, ask each tutor about your curriculum, level and teaching language. An English profile or website does not establish that every tutor teaches in English.
Confirm whether lessons are online or in person, the lesson location, and the time zone. Thailand uses Asia/Bangkok (UTC+7). Ask the tutor to confirm the actual available lesson time.
Listed hourly prices use Thai baht (THB). Confirm lesson length, the total booking price and any travel or other charges before booking. Check the specific qualifications and visible review history in the tutor’s profile.
Frequently asked questions
What is Lerniva?
Lerniva is a platform for finding and comparing tutors in Thailand. Compare subjects, levels and lesson formats, then check details, rates and schedules with the tutor before booking.
How much do lessons cost?
Each tutor sets their own rates. Check the rate shown on the profile and confirm lesson details before booking. There is no single price that applies to every tutor.
How should I choose a tutor?
Start with the learner’s subject, level and goals. Use search filters, compare profiles, rates and available reviews, then ask about relevant experience and schedules before deciding.
Where should parents start when choosing a school tutor?
Specify the subject, school year, curriculum and learning goals. Ask about teaching learners of a similar age, assessing starting knowledge and reporting progress. Parents should help agree the goals, schedule and cost before booking.
How do TCAS, TGAT, TPAT and Thai A-Level differ?
TCAS is a university admissions system. TGAT, TPAT and Thai A-Level are tests that programmes may use in different combinations. Check programme criteria and announcements for the application year before choosing preparation subjects. Thai A-Level is separate from Cambridge International A Level.
How do I cancel a lesson, and what is refunded?
Cancel a lesson in the platform. Students are refunded 90% when cancelling at least 24 hours ahead, 50% when cancelling 12–24 hours ahead and 0% with less than 12 hours of notice. If the tutor cancels, the refund is 100%. For cancellation refunds, the admin team verifies the refund and the amount is then credited to your platform Wallet, usable for future bookings. An emergency-reschedule forfeiture may reduce a student cancellation refund, but never reduces a tutor- or admin-initiated refund.
How can I compare the actual cost of tutoring?
Compare rates using the same hourly or lesson unit. Check lesson length, itemized costs, payment and cancellation terms. Ask about missing details before booking, then check the total in the booking process before confirming.
Can I find online or in-person tutors?
Tutor search includes online and in-person filters. For in-person lessons, you can select a supported city. Confirm travel coverage, the meeting place and a suitable time with the tutor before booking.
